The performing arts have always had a home at St. Anne, and this term's festival was our most ambitious yet.
Learners performed traditional dances accompanied by our own drumming ensemble, presented choral verse in both English and Luganda, and staged an original play written and directed by pupils of Primary Six.
Beyond the applause, festivals like this do quiet work: shy children discover a voice, teams learn to rehearse and adjust, and every performer learns to stand in front of an audience without fear.
Our thanks go to the music, dance and drama department for the months of after-class rehearsal, and to the parents who filled the hall.
