St. Anne is proud to be an ambassador of environmental conservation, and this term our learners put that value into practice in the most tangible way possible.
Members of the environmental club, supported by their patron and a team of teachers, planted five hundred indigenous seedlings across the school compound and along the approach road. Each class adopted a section and is now responsible for watering and protecting it.
The exercise is not a one-off event. Learners keep a simple growth log for their trees, and the class with the healthiest section at the end of the year is recognised at our annual prize-giving ceremony.
We are grateful to the parents and community members who donated seedlings and tools, and to Kyotera District officials who advised us on the species best suited to our soils.
